Once the installation completes, the following dialog box will be displayed:
This solutions article is specific to the operation of the "Logbook Database Wizard." Operators installing versions 6.9 and beyond should make sure this box is checked for their first install.
The following Database Migration Wizard will be shown:
Use - when clicking on:
- ? - this brings you to this Solutions Article page
- Select all - this selects all the logbook databases found on the PC (you can migrate more later)
- Select none - this unselects all logbooks found on the PC
- Invert flips the check boxes to their opposite conditions
- Refresh looks for additional log databases (in case you have copied more over while in the wizard)
- Import allows you to find and import an Access database not shown in the list
- View enables you to view the specific information about the highlighted log
- Continue causes you to proceed to the next step
Typically, click Continue...
You will then see the databases selected for migration. Click "Convert to v6.9 databases."
NOTE: This does not delete nor in any way destroy your existing log. It simply uses the database for import, leaving the former database unchanged. In an emergency, it's possible to go backwards in versions and take up from where that log left off.
A status bar will be shown as the databases are being imported into the new SQLite database format. Once the databases have been converted, you will see the "Close" button.
You can click the "Back" button to go back and review information about the databases that were converted. (Typically, this is not necessary.) The Back button shows these two additional tabs (ODBC v6.8 and Databases v6.9):
If you reach this point, just click the "X" in the upper right and the wizard will close. The migration process is complete.
